Introducing: Joshua Zero

Joshua Zero is an exciting new glitzy rock guitar artist based between Leeds and London. With three official singles so far, Zero and his band are creating waves with a genre mashing sound merging elements of seventies glam rock and modern indie and pop.

‘Your Eyes Are Fighting’, released on 16 July, is the first single (which you can listen to below) from an upcoming debut EP.

The track throws you into a pulpit of sound, where bouncing guitars are tempered with Zero’s impressive vocals and poignant lyrics: “Eight months pregnant with a brother in jail’ Zero sings to open the track – a reference to time spent in New York, where the song was written.

‘Your Eyes Are Fighting,’ tells the tale of Zero’s time spent in the pubs, clubs and streets of The Big Apple. Reflecting on the single Zero says, “I wrote that without any instruments, I just wrote the lyrics when I was in New York and it was weird because I could hear the chorus clearly. It was just all about the shit I heard and experienced in New York.”

The release offers a variety of texture pushing a pulling between an anthemic chorus, dreamy verses, and hard hitting percussion.

Joshua Zero will be playing at Leeds Headrow House for the Super Friendz Introduces Show this Friday, 23 July, joining artists Joe by the Book, Household Dogs, and Mandrake Handshake who are also on the bill.
